Mozambique: Overloaded Trucks Blamed for Damage to En4 Motorway

Maputo — Trans-African Concessions (TRAC), the South African company which operates the EN4 motorway from Maputo to the South African town of Witbank, has promised to invest 370 million meticais (about 10.9 million US dollars) in rehabilitating a seven kilometre stretch of the motorway in the municipality of Matola.

This stretch of the motorway is in very poor condition, much to the annoyance of motorists who have to pay tolls for the privilege of using it. TRAC blames the problem on overloaded trucks.
