The gross domestic product (GDP) for 2014 grew by 7% against 4.6% in 2013, according to the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR).
Yusuf Murangwa, the director general of NISR, indicated that the value of goods and services last year amounted to Frw 5,389 billion compared to Frw 4,864 billion in 2013, highlighting that the services sector continued to be the major contributor to GDP at 47%, while agriculture accounted for 33%, and industry for 15%. The remaining 5% was attributed to adjustment for taxes and subsidies on products.
