Nigeria: I Declare for Muhammadu Buhari

At the inception of democracy in 1999, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had a pan Nigerian vision and membership. Today it is estranged with its first and only surviving former President; deserted by its many founding fathers; abandoned by four former Speakers of the House of Representatives elected on its platform; forsaken by five of its governors and is generally disdained by the common people due largely to its arrogance, dishonesty, discrimination, hypocrisy and incompetence. Not only has it failed to provide the citizens the basic services it promised, but it bleeds the treasury and condones massive corruption. Although it describes itself as "the largest political party in Africa", the PDP, incredibly, doesn't know how many members it has. Let's face it; the PDP is in the gutter today. Its luminous story has become horrible.

A new cabal has now taken over the PDP and everything has been and is being done by the party to please President Jonathan. Those who'll lend ears to President Jonathan should first ask whether he has kept the original promise he solemnly made to his party not to contest for this year's election.
