Angola: Cuando Cubango - 31,000 Anti-Personnel Landmines Destroyed in Fourteen Years

Menongue — At least thirty-one thousand anti-personnel landmines were destroyed from 2002 up to the present year, in the south-eastern Cuando Cubango Province, by the British firm The Halo Trust, informed last Monday in Cuito Cuanavale Municipality the institution's provincial head, José António.

José António presented this datum to the minister of Territory Administration, Bornito de Sousa, and to the governor of Cuando Cubango, Higino Carneiro, in a political rally organised to mark the 27th anniversary of the end of the Cuito Cuanavale Battle, celebrated last Monday.
