Tanzania: Govt Bans Contributions During Student Enrolment

Dodoma — DISTRICT councils have been directed to take stern measures against heads of primary and secondary schools who continue to compel parents to contribute during enrolment of pupils and students because such costs are covered by capitation grants.

This was said on Thursday by the Minister for Education and Vocational Training, Dr Shukuru Kawambwa, when responding to a supplementary question raised by Arumeru West Legislator Goodluck Ole Medeye (CCM).
