Nigeria: Protests Trail Fresh Move By Enugu House to Approve N11 Billion Loan for Govt

ENUGU--Pandem-Onium ensued, yesterday, at Enugu State House of Assembly as hundreds of demonstrators besieged the Assembly complex protesting alleged plans by the House to approve a fresh loan of N11 billion for the state government.

The demonstrators, led by the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in the state, Chief Okey Ezea, marched round the complex, carrying placards with inscriptions as, "Chime should not mortgage our future, Enugu people are opposed to this loan," expressed disapproval of such an action by the Assembly, urging the members in the interest of people of the state to reject the proposal.
