Maputo — The vast majority of young Mozambican women do not use contraception, and are thus exposed to the risk of sexually transmitted diseases (including HIV-AIDS) and unwanted pregnancies.
This was the depressing conclusion from a four month study (January and February 2014, for the baseline, and June and July for the final assessment) held in the southern city of Matola and Vilankulo district, in Inhambane province, by the NGO Pathfinder International, in partnership with the project “The Evidence to Action” (E2A), and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
