Ethiopia: Government Committed to Raise Horticulture Export - Premier

Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn said yesterday that though the horticulture export industry is at an infant stage, it has registered remarkable growth within a few years. The horticulture industry has become the source of foreign exchange earnings for the nation and an opportunity for creating considerable jobs for citizens, he said.

Opening the 2015 Hortiflora Expo, International Horticulture Trade Fair at the Millennium Hall, the Premier said that the foreign exchange revenue generated from the sector reached about 245 million USD in 2013/14 Ethiopian fiscal year, and created job opportunities for more than 180,000 citizens.
