Angola: Victory of Angola in 1992 Introduces 'New Noun' in Spanish Sport

Luanda — "Angolaço" is the new noun introduced in sports circles in Spain, since 1992, to designate defeats and unexpected flops of Spanish national teams in international competitions, in different sports, and which was inspired by the trashing victory of the Angolan basketball squad (83-63) over the Spanish national team in the Barcelona Olympic Games.

According to the current Angolan national basketball squad coach, the Spaniard Moncho Lopez, who gave this information to ANGOP, last Saturday in Luanda, Angolaço is a word that is still today used by Spanish citizens.
