OVER three million seedlings of various tree species will be planted during the on-going rainy season. Head of nursery- Department of Forestry and Non-renewable Natural Resources, Mr Rashid Nassor Rashid, revealed that 437, 090 seedlings are spice and fruit trees, While over two million are forest seedlings, and 317,553 clove seedlings will be disseminated free of charge to farmers annually.
The rainy season which started in March is expected to end in June. Mr Rashid mentioned that the nurseries are located at Mwanyanya, Selem, Kombeni, and Mwera areas in Unguja West District.
