Nigeria: NCC Postpones 2.6GHZ Spectrum Auction

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), last weekend, postponed the proposed and much publicised auction of the 2.6 gigahertz spectrum band 'till further notice.'

The spectrum band is useful to the deployment of high-speed Internet - broadband- in the nation's telecoms sector, where voice market has grown significantly with broadband being recognised as the next big thing for the country.
