Nigeria: Ex-Leader, Cleric Sue for Peace On Polls Results

Former military head of state, retired General Abdulsalami Abubakar and Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Hassan Kukah have urged Nigerians to embrace peace as they await the Presidential and National Assembly results.

In a statement obtained by Daily Trust yesterday and jointly endorsed by General Abubakar, Chairman of the National Peace Committee for 2015 General Elections and the Coordinator, Bishop Kukah also commended security agencies, civil society groups and the public on the patience and maturity exhibited during the Saturday polls across the federation.
