Japan has expressed hope that under the leadership of President-elect retired General Muhammadu Buhari, all parties in Nigeria will work together to further promote democracy and economic development.
In a statement yesterday by the minister of foreign affairs, Fumio Kishida from the Japanese embassy in Nigeria said the country welcomes the fact that a large number of Nigerians participated actively in the election in an orderly manner. He also congratulated Buhari on his election and praised the President Goodluck Jonathan, who immediately accepted the election result.
