Gambia Swimming Elects First Female President

The Gambia Swimming and Aquatic Sports Association last Saturday, April 4, elected Khadija Njie Sanusi as its first female president in an elective congress held at the Faculty of Law, University of The Gambia, MDI campus.

Sanusi, a former vice president of the association, was elected in absentia due to illness and went unopposed after the incumbent president Pa Alieu Jallow, who served in that position since November 2013, withdrew his candidature just 48 hours before the congress.
