Namibia: Mbok Trial Lawyers Mull Over Recordings

VOICE recordings that a former finance ministry employee made covertly on behalf of the Anti-Corruption Commission appear set to become a bone of contention in the High Court trial of two men accused of having been involved in the theft of cheques from the ministry.

The trial of the two accused, Antoine Mbok and Daniel Nghiwilepo, which was supposed to continue before Judge Nate Ndauendapo yesterday, was instead postponed to tomorrow to give the two accused and their defence lawyers more time to consider their position on recordings of conversations between Nghiwilepo and former finance ministry clerk Veronika Kituna Thomas.
