Kenya: MPs Urged to Create Awareness On Economic Benefits of E-Waste

Members of Parliament have been urged to create awareness on the economic benefits of electronic waste and waste tyres in creating 'green' jobs for the youth.

Addressing members of the Select Committee on Delegated Legislation during a retreat on e-waste and waste tyres regulations at the Travelers Beach Hotel in Mombasa, the Principal Secretary in the State Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Dr Richard Lesiyampe noted that, burning of waste tyres has become a health hazard due to poor management and lack of a regulation.
