Malawi: Charcoal Trafficking Truck Impounded in Ntcheu

Ntcheu — Ntcheu District Forestry Office jointly with Police Wednesday night impounded a ten- tonner truck which was loaded with over three hundred bags of charcoal at Senzani along the Chingeni-Blantyre M1 Road.

Speaking Thursday in an interview with Malawi News Agency, Ntcheu District Forestry Officer (DFO) Lino Maliko said the vehicle registration number LA 2031 which belongs to Fela Mulauzi was impounded as it was on its way to Blantyre during the office's routine operation exercises which are conducted to curb production and trafficking of illegal forestry products.
