Gambia: 56th Ordinary Session of ACHPR Slated

The Civil Society Organisations from Africa and beyond will convene in Banjul, for the 56th Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR) and the 30th African Human Rights Book Fair (AHRBF) which is slated for 17th -19th April 2015.

According to a press release, the forum will discuss the current human rights and democracy challenges in Africa as well as review corresponding strategies to address the identified challenges. The three-day forum organised and hosted by the African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (African Centre), the Secretariat of the NGO's Forum and the Forum Steering Committee, in collaboration with the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights (African Commission) will be held at the Kairaba Beach Hotel.
