Gusau — Governor Abdulaziz Yari was on Monday returned elected as the governor of Zamfara state for a second term.
Yari of the All Progressive Congress (APC) was announced winner by the returning officer Prof. Abdullahi Abdu Zuru after securing 716, 964 votes to defeat former governor Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 201,938 votes. The candidate for APGA Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi came third with 2,385 votes.
