Nigeria: Ekiti Crisis Stalls School Resumption

Ado Ekiti — Most secondary and primary schools in Ekiti State could not resume yesterday over fears of another round of anti-impeachment protest in the state. Public schools in the state were supposed to resume yesterday. It would be recalled that some people loyal to Governor Fayose last week staged protests against his impeachment bid by 19 APC lawmakers in the state House of Assembly.

What further heightened their fears was the various threats of protest at the weekend by leadership of both commercial motorcycle operators, popularly called Okada riders and road transport unions.
