THE Nairobi government on Monday took ownership of Continental hotel in Westlands, Sirona Hotel in Parklands and Ikon Garden in Muthaiga after owners failed to pay land rates.
The county said the owners of the properties owe it more than Sh 6 million in land rate arrears. The tenants of the properties will now pay rent directly to the county government until the debt is settled.
