Nigeria: Adoke to NASS - Halt Amendment to 1999 Constitution

The attorney-general of the federation (AGF) and minister of justice, Mr. Mohammed Adoke (SAN), has written to the Senate president, David Mark and the speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, on the passage of the amended 1999 Constitution into law.

In a letter through his lawyer, Chief Bayo Ojo (SAN), the AGF urged the lawmakers to allow the court to determine the appropriateness or otherwise of the alteration done to the 1999 Constitution before it is passed into law.
