Nigeria: Jonathan Asks Mark, Tambuwal to Abort Constitution Amendment

Abuja — President Goodluck Jonathan has asked the Senate President, David Mark and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal to halt moves by members of ‎the National Assembly to go ahead with the constitution amendment process.

‎In a letter he wrote, Thursday, to the duo through the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke, President Jonathan urged them to restrain other ‎legislature from tampering with the 1999 constitution, as issues regarding its proposed amendments, are already before the Supreme Court.
