Ghana: MTN Adds Gh¢605 Miilion to National Kitty

Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN), Ghana' leading telecom company paid a total of GHc605 million to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in payment of taxes besides other direct contributions to the national economy in 2014. The figure includes a Corporate Income Tax of GHc166 million and CST of GHc113 million with GHc228.9 million going to VAT thus making MTN the overall best corporate taxpayer in 2014.

Mrs. Cynthia Lumor, the Corporate Service Executive of MTN who disclosed these at a Media encounter in Kumasi said MTN's direct contribution to the economy is a function of revenue of GHc1.9 billion in 2014 representing 123% increase over the previous year.
