Pedro Alonso was just out of medical school when he first visited Africa, an experience that was to change his life forever.
"I woke up to the realization that malaria is a massive health problem and a neglected disease in certain parts of the world," he said. "Three out of four patients were malaria, and that was very hard for a young doctor to see. So it became my driving force."
