Nigeria: Imo Temporarily Shut Down for Election

Owerri — Imo State was temporarily shut down for today's supplementary election. Movements were restricted by security personnel ensuring that people respect the restriction of movement order.

Vanguard witnessed a mild drama at the Fire Service Roundabout, Owerri, this morning. The biological and God-parents of a newly baptized baby was stopped by the security personnel at this roundabout and almost prevented them from going home. The security personnel manning this point slammed a N2,000 bill on the family but eventually, they parted with N500 before being allowed to leave for their home.
