Nigeria: Women Insist On 35 Percent Affirmative Action From Buhari's Administration

THE Borno State Women, Peace and Security Group (BWPSG) in the state yesterday urged President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of All Progressives Congress (APC) to strictly abide with the 35 per cent affirmative action for women on ministerial appointments already implemented by President Goodluck Jonathan in the last six years.

Addressing a news conference in Maiduguri yesterday, the President of BWPSG, Hajiya Hauwa Ahmed, said that the President-elect should as a matter of "policy and consistency" appoint more women into his APC administration that will be inaugurated on May 29, 2015.
