Tanzania: Moi Medical Nurse Escapes Surefooted Imprisonment

MUHIMBILI Orthopaedic Institute's nurse Eric Kimwomwe escaped a six-year jail term by paying a 500,000/- fine.

Senior Resident Magistrate at Kisutu Resident Magistrate's Court, Hellen Riwa, had convicted the nurse on two bribery charges and condemned to six years in jail or payment of a fine, saying she was satisfied by the prosecution's evidence against the accused who solicited and received a bribe from a patient.
