Nigeria: Mu'azu Fights Back As Plot to Unseat Him Thickens

Ado-Ekiti — The National Working Committee of Peoples Democratic Party on Saturday issued a blunt warning to those it called "ambitious aides and associates" of President Goodluck Jonathan to stop exploiting their closeness to the president to undermine the leadership of the party and engineer internal dissension. The warning was contained in a statement by the PDP national publicity secretary, Olisa Metuh. The warnings came as pressure for the dissolution of the NWC and resignation of Muazu continued to mount following PDP's poor performance at the last general election and allegations that the national chairman did little or nothing to try to steer the hitherto ruling party to victory.
