Nigeria: Borno Expends N15 Billion Security in Three Years

Maiduguri — The Borno State government supported the army and other security agencies in the state with over N15 billion in the last three years as part of efforts to contain the Boko Haram insurgency. Deputy Governor Zannah Umar Mustapha stated this while addressing civil servants at the state hotel as part of the workers' day celebrations.

Mustapha, who represented Governor Kashim Shettima at the occasion, said throughout the trying period, the state received only N200 million as support from the federal government but expressed hope that the in-coming administration of General Muhammadu Buhari will find a way of compensating the state.
