A coalition of states in the North-Central Zone, North-Central Peoples Development Initiative, has said that it would be an act of betrayal to the teeming population of the zone if the position of Senate president is not zoned to the area.
The group, in a press conference in Abuja, addressed by its chairman, Alhaji Abdulmalik Isah Abdullahi, and its executive secretary, Malam Ibrahim Ado-Iliyasu, said the people of the North-Central states want the position of the Senate president to remain in the zone.
