Nigeria: Danger Averted At Govt House As People Scoop Gas From Fallen Tanker

Awka — Government House, Awka, narrowly escaped being engulfed by fire on Monday night when a tanker laden with 45,000 litres of gas had an accident and got upturned at the gate, spilling its content.

Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Chuma Mbonu, who was at the site of the incident, said in an interview that the tanker driver was speeding down the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway towards Enugu when it suddenly saw a diversion due to on-going road work and swerved to take the other lane.
