Nigeria: Investing in Rice Production and Rice Processing Plants

With the 2015 National Elections over and new government to be headed by the President elect General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) preparing to take over the leadership of the country by 29th May, 2015, the challenges of the country are so many. The unemployment situation is there with many young school leavers and able bodied youths unable to get employment. The dwindling revenue from oil(the major source of the national revenue), the power problem and lack of basic infrastructures. Though the President-elect made promises to tackle some of these problems, Nigerians should not expect immediate results. The President Elect we all know is a disciplined man and will put in his best to transform the system but everybody in the country will also support the government in this regard.

One of the areas the President Goodluck Jonathan performed very well is in the area of Agriculture. The Ministry of Agriculture did very well in adding increasing the Agriculture and value added to the agricultural products as well.
