A ZANU PF councillor in Gweru has denied charges he raped a 16-year-old girl at gunpoint, telling a city court that the teenager's mother fabricated the claim in order to get money from him.
Charles Simbi, a councillor for Ward 12 and well-known gold miner in the Midlands city, was first arraigned before the courts in February over the allegations.
