South Africa: Gauteng Education Department Discovers Online Registration

The long queues, the endless paperwork, and the kid tugging on your arm whining "When is it going to be our turn?" Registering your kid for school is never fun, and with widespread internet access and an app for everything, it really shouldn't be so time consuming. Fortunately, the Gauteng Department of Education has realised this, and finally made online registration for school a thing for 2016.

Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi made the announcement at a media briefing on the findings of several investigations including allegations of racism at the Curro School in Roodeplaat and the death of three children from Emma Primary school in Winterveld.
