Nigeria: Banks Paid N145.5 Billion Into AMCON's Sinking Fund in 2014

Lagos — Fifteen quoted banks on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) have paid N145.5 billion as banking sector resolution cost fund, otherwise called sinking fund, into the coffers of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) in 2014.

Investigation carried out by the Daily Trust showed that 15 listed banks on the Nigerian bourse recorded total assets of N29.107 trillion during the 2014 financial year.
