Nigeria: 5,000 IDPs Get Relief Materials in Yobe

Damaturu — The Red Cross has distributed raincoats, solar lightening packs and other relief materials to 5,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Yobe State. The other items included bags of rice, beans, milk, palm oil, mats, blankets, cartons of spaghetti, detergents, soap and sanitary pads.

The Red Cross distribution officer in the state, Alhaji Umar Bashir Na'ilaila, told newsmen in Damaturu: "We cannot pay them back what they have lost but this will at least make them get prepared to face the rainy season".
