The Portfolio Committee on Trade and Industry heard today that the initial changes to the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) codes to reduce the points that could be acquired from broad-based schemes was not the right approach. It has since been retracted.
Committee Chairperson Ms Joanmariae Fubbs commended Minister of Trade and Industry Dr Rob Davies for recognising that something is amiss and doing something about it.
