It is common to hear people talk about women empowerment and the liberation of women from poverty and domestic oppression and exploitation as pre-requisites for national development. Yet very few people walk the talk. But President Jammeh is one of the few who not only talk about women empowerment but marches words with action.
With overwhelming achievements in this drive, his pledge to do more for Gambian women as the agricultural tour progresses is therefore no surprise to anyone following Gambia's development progress.
