CORRUPTION and greed, very destructive forces since time immemorial, have always been bedfellows. And no amount of disclosure of personal assets will make up for a peaceful and cohesive society unless those forces are tackled effectively.
One of the latest reports of greed among top national leaders is that the governor of Ohangwena region, Usko Nghaamwa, has applied to continue "owning" an 11 000 hectare farm in the communal lands of Kavango East for several generations. Half of the land would allegedly belong to his daughter. The land board of that region has already agreed, and if no objections are received, the process will be a done deal.
