Nigeria: Umana Raises the Alarm Over Attempt By INEC to Frustrate His Petition

Counsel to the Progressives Congress (APC) and the Governorship candidate, Akwa Ibom State, Chief Victor Iyanam Wednesday said that he may be forced to bring contempt charges against the State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mr. Austin Okojie for his alleged refusal to allow inspection of INEC materials used in the conduct of the governorship election in the state.

Chief Iyanam who is a former Attorney General in the State under the administration of Chief Godswill Akpabio with nine other lawyers are representing the APC and the APC governorship candidate in the April 11 election, Mr. Umana Okon Umana at the election petition tribunal.
