In the aftermath of the April 2 attack in Garissa, I find myself trying to put into words the emotions and convictions that ripped through me as a survivor of the attack on Westgate Mall, Nairobi, on September 23, 2013. I am as Kenyan as anyone; I am as Muslim as anyone.
These two facets stand in harmony, not in opposition. Islam means 'Surrender, Peace', we are told.
