Egypt Minister Expects Investments Worth U.S.$45 Billion in Renewable Energy Within Decade

Cairo — Investment Minister Ashraf Salman said it is expected that investments worth $45 billion will be pumped into Egypt's new and renewable energy sector over the next 10 years, state agency MENA reported on Monday.

Speaking at a conference on renewable energy, Salman said the government plans to raise energy production by up to 30,000 megawatts in the upcoming period, 8,000 of which will come from new and renewable energy sources.
