South Africa: Alleged Wife Killer Had Rights Violated, Court Told

Rameez Patel, who is accused of killing his wife Fatima, had his rights violated when giving police a statement during his arrest, his lawyer told the Polokwane Magistrate's Court on Monday.

Speaking during Patel's bail application, Tumi Mokwena called for the court to disregard a statement obtained from him during his arrest, claiming police had violated his right to remain silent.
