After seven months of pre election campaigning, it is now up to the 36.8 million registered voters to elect their favoured candidates.
During this period much was said; several incidents occurred, and the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) was required to be decisive in response to several issues. Mostly, the controversy and internal conflict occurred within two parties - Unity for Democracy & Justice (UDJ) and the All Ethiopian Unity Party (AEUP); The conflict was mainly related to groups within each party claiming leadership positions and this overshadowed the first months of the pre election period.
