Most readers will probably know that the earth is steadily getting warmer in small incremental degrees, ie, global warming. They may also know that this warming leads over time to climate change, which is likely to bring all kinds of environmental devastation to the planet.
And then they may know that there is a huge global effort underway, led by the UN, to roll back climate change through a variety of measures, chief of which is the proposed reduction of the emissions of carbon dioxide and other 'greenhouse gases' into the atmosphere, which are a principal cause of global warming, hence, climate change.
