Maputo — Bus drivers and fare collectors of the Maputo municipal bus company, TPM, returned to work on Tuesday afternoon, after a strike that had lasted for several hours, taking all of TPM's bus fleet off the roads.
The workers were protesting against a ten day delay in receiving their May wages. Repeated promises of payment by the TPM management were not honoured. The last of these was on Monday, when the workers were told they would receive their wages by 19.00 that evening.
