Few hours to the end of their tenure, the House of Representatives passed the Petroleum Industry Bill on Thursday. The bill was passed after three weeks of scrutiny following the consideration of the various clauses and agreement by members.
The bill seeks to establish a legal, fiscal and regulatory framework for the petroleum industry in Nigeria. The deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, described the bill as important despite the delay in its passage.
