Mozambique: Chinese Company Suspended By Labour Ministry

Maputo — The Mozambican Labour Ministry is investigating a Chinese owned recycling company in Maputo, particularly the “deplorable conditions” imposed on the 15 Mozambicans working there, according to a Ministry press release.

The Lantim Group recycles garbage and plastic materials, and appears to be operating illegally in that, when a brigade from the General Inspectorate of Labour (IGT) visited the company on 26 May, the management was unable to present any document showing a contractual relationship between the company and its work force.
