This edition seeks to take a comprehensive look at the impacts of oil spill on environmentally sensitive area particularly the ecosystem despite the fact that oil spill disaster is not common in The Gambia with a view to its geographical location.

Oil spill havoc has become a wide spread concern with its impact on different environmental sets such as the offshore waters which consist of fish, plankton, sea birds, marine mammals/reptiles among other maritime species. The Shallow Inshore Water - that is the sea grass and corals and the shoreline which groups the mangroves, sand, rocks and salt marsh is very devastating.
